Hello everyone! Long time no talk,
So I am back and here's what I have to say about my month without social media.
First things first, it was harder than I expected as I often found myself on facebook and did not even remember opening it because it was just so routine. I didnt even realize how often I browse social media without thinking about it.
Secondly, I noticed I felt like anexious but also started using my free time better, I did more reading and research on topics that interest me instead of just mindlessly scrolling on Instagram.
Thirdly, I bought less stuff. This one might sound weird but with advertising constantly being pushed down our throats about new products and merchandise we "NEED" from different brands, I often find myself falling victim to the hype and interest around these promoted items. I notice this especially with Instagram as so many social media stars are getting paid to promote products to their followers that they probably don't even use.
Over all I would say the month wasn't that difficult only the beginning did I find myself using face book by mistake. I encourage everyone to try to not use social media for a month because because it was really nothing but a positive experience. I felt a little bit more in touch with myself and think I will continue o limit my social media use just not as strict as the one MONTH challenge.
So please CHALLENGE YOURself and stay away from social media and let me know how it makes you feel and if it was really a challenge for you.
Thanks for the read xx
Until next time

The Burden of Social Media
Over the past few months I have been thinking a lot about how to deal with social media and live in a world that is so consumed by it without falling into that.
I have learned that social media is everywhere and as an emerging professional you must embrace it to a certain degree in order to help with growth and success. In saying that it is very easy to get sucked into a state where you are spending so much precious time on your phone scrolling through different forums and its a tough habit to break away from.
I found myself scrolling through Instagram and constantly feeling as though I wasn't enough. I would see girls who were so perfect and went all on these amazing vacations, with fancy clothes and life styles and compare myself to that unrealistic ideal of happiness. When you only capture your life in photos you can choose which pieces you wish to share with the world and that often becomes only the best, most exciting and perfect parts.
I got thinking about this and the effects it has on me more and more and decided to take a challenge of a month without social media. Starting today I will only use my phone to contact friends and my parents and will limit that also to involve more face to face time. I have deleted all my social media applications and in doing so hope to spend more time bettering myself and finding things I love to do. I want to try yoga, take up painting again, and spend more time talking to my family. I will document this experiment on my blog when the month is over as sort of a self reflection and see how it has changed my mood or outlook and use of time.
I challenged anyone reading this to cleanse themselves of social media for a month and lift and sort of expectations or definitions of what or how you should be living. If you don't feel like partying is your idea of fun or meaningful time you shouldn't feel the need to because thats all your friends post about on Facebook or snapchat. Find your little piece of happiness and Zen and maybe it will take me a few years before I achieve that, but a month without social media doesn't seem like too bad of a start.
Take my challenge and enjoy a life that you shape for yourself.

Drugstore Fall eyeshadow palettes you need!
Drugstore Fall Eyeshadow Palettes that won't break the bank but will get you in the spirit :)
Hello again everyone !
Today I'm bringing you my two favourite drugstore eyeshadow palettes for the fall time! They have a lot of great dupes for higher end palettes or palettes that can be hard to get your hands on if you live in the land of no shipping (Canada) like I do!
Okay so first things first my go to eyeshadow look is always a red smokey eye with a pop of copper in the centre of the lid, and to achieve this without owning the Morphe 35O palette or the ABH Modern Renaissance I opt for the Makeup Revolution New-trals vs Neutrals palette. If you have green eyes you seriously NEED this palette, actually if you have eyes in general you need this. I have so many high end palettes but this is the one I always use because the shadow colours are beautiful and they blend so well and have good pigmentation for any level of shadow not just drugstore. It's such a well priced palette like the quality is so amazing for the price and I can not say enough great things. I purchased it while I visited England but they have an online store with world wide shipping and it's now sold at ULTA!
Okay enough ranting now let's get down to business. This palette will set you back a 10.00$ US if purchased at ULTA which is an absolute bargin.
Palette is pictured below ! (How stunning I know) p.s looks very true to colour and was taken in natural lighting without flash
Palette includes a double ended brush that works quite nicely!
Below I have swatched some of my favourite shades from the palette to give you an idea of how pigmented they are and how the colours swatch and will apply to the eyes
These shades are amazing for anytime of year but especially for fall looks they are perfect for that pumpkin spice burnt orange vibe everyone seems to love.
Next up on the affordable palettes you need for fall is Wet n Wild 8 Pan Palette in Comfort Zone. They have a bunch of beautiful colours in here and the one duo chrome is almost a dupe for Macs shade blue brown. Being a student means affordable makeup is very near and dear my heart because I am always balling on a budget. Below is a picture of the palette and it retails for 8.00$ US at Walmart but I got mine for 5.00$ because Wet n Wild is constantly 40% off at RiteAid and CVS! So keep your eyes pealed for those deals.
Top Row of swatches is the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette and bottom row is the Makeup Revolution Palette
As you can see above the colours swatch beautifully! Both palettes do include a sort of chalky sparkly black but it can still be worked with. The green shade is my favourite for fall looks and the blueish silver shade in the palette is actually a duo chrome shift which switches to a reddish brown just like Macs shade Blue brown.
Hope you try these palettes out for the fall! Thank you for baring with me as I try and perfect a blogging format. I will post about my other drugstore favourites such as lip products in my next blog post! Let me know if you'd like to see that :)?

Welcome to my very first blog post and OOTD post about two piece sets and how to transition florals into the Fall, I hope you enjoy!
This summer and going into early fall I have been loving florals and matching two piece sets. I love how versatile they can be as you can wear them separate or together or even layered with other pieces for completely different looks.
The outfit below is from New Look, and this is what I wore on a weekend trip to Toronto island about 2 weeks ago. As it was warm out this day I just wore the two piece, but if i was to style this for school in the fall Canadian weather we get I would pair it with a black leather jacket and grey suede booties for an edgier and warmer look. But if you don't want to go the leather jacket route I think a Army green bomber jacket would look nice over top and pull it into the fall season by breaking up all of the white going on! Something maybe like the one pictured below(which is from ASOS if you were wondering)!
|Palm Trees in Toronto|
|Suggested jacket pairing!|
What I love about this is the print and the wrap style of the skirt and blouse, very flattering on the figure! I also love how even though it is a crop top and skirt set my entire stomach isn't out for all of Toronto to see. Which means I can also get away with wearing this to work if i pair it with a nice blazer or jacket.
- The mini pink bag is Steve Madden from TJ Maxx (for 20.00$ what a steal I know)
- Matching skirt and shirt is from NewLook
- Strappy brown heeled sandals are from DSW (purchased about a year ago)
- Grey Fluff Pom Pom on bag is also from TJ Maxx for about 6.00$ and I'm pretty sure they still have them so if you like it go check TJ!
I tried to keep this short and sweet! I hope you enjoyed and if you have any questions please ask away I'd love to hear from you :) I am so happy to finally be getting started on this blog!
